📦 Order Processing

  • Orders are shipped Monday through Thursday to avoid weekend transit delays.
  • We do not ship on Fridays to prevent packages from sitting in hot warehouses over the weekend.
  • Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost (noted at checkout).
  • We do not accept returns on food items per food safety laws. Please contact us with any concerns.

🌡️ Temperature-Controlled Shipping

LuLu Chews caramels are handmade and heat-sensitive. To ensure your order arrives in perfect condition, we use temperature-controlled packaging during warm months.

When does temperature protection apply?

A $7.50 flat fee is added for temperature-controlled packaging (insulated box + ice pack or dry ice) when:

  • Your order requires more than 2 days in transit, OR
  • Seasonal temperatures in your region pose a melting risk (typically May through September).

This fee is automatically applied at checkout based on your shipping destination and the time of year.

🗺️ East Coast Climate Shipping Zones

We've broken the East Coast into climate zones based on average transit time and seasonal temperatures to help protect your order:

Zone 1 — Local / Same Region (1 Day Transit) ✅ No surcharge

Maryland, DC, Northern Virginia, Delaware, Southern Pennsylvania

  • Standard shipping — arrives within 1 business day.
  • Temperature packaging not required for most of the year.
  • During peak summer (July–August), we may include a complimentary ice pack.

Zone 2 — Mid-Atlantic (1–2 Day Transit) ⚠️ Seasonal surcharge

New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania (Philadelphia/Pittsburgh), West Virginia

  • Standard transit is 1–2 business days.
  • $7.50 temperature surcharge applies May through September.
  • Insulated packaging with ice pack included during warm months.

Zone 3 — Upper New England (2 Days Transit) ⚠️ Seasonal surcharge

Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine

  • Transit is typically 2 business days.
  • $7.50 temperature surcharge applies May through August.
  • Cooler climate — surcharge window is slightly shorter than southern zones.

Zone 4 — Southeast (2+ Days Transit) 🔴 Year-round surcharge

North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Virginia (southern)

  • Transit is 2+ business days and temperatures run high most of the year.
  • $7.50 temperature surcharge applies year-round (March through October).
  • Dry ice or heavy-duty insulated packaging used during peak heat months.

Zone 5 — Beyond East Coast (3+ Days Transit) 🔴 Surcharge always applies

All other US states

  • Transit exceeds 2 days — temperature protection is always required.
  • $7.50 flat fee applies to all orders shipped outside the East Coast.
  • We recommend selecting Priority Mail or expedited shipping for best results.
